Biographical Sketch

Charles Leggett is a computer systems engineer with a background in High Energy Physics. He is one of the foremost experts in parallel computing in the HEP community. He co-leads of the Portable Parallelization Strategy group of the HEP-CCE project, and the Heterogeneous Computing and Accelerator Forum of the ATLAS experiment. He is also one of the coordinators of the Gaudi project. He is also interested in studying the performance of the gnu C++ compiler, and maintains a site tracking the results. He received his PhD in HEP from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor in 1998, studying B decays on the L3 experiment at CERN.
