The Scientific Leadership and Management Skills Course (SLMS) was designed for senior postdocs and junior investigators—as a 3-week course to help bolster your experience in leadership styles, people management, inclusive leadership, and conflict resolution.
The SLMS Course exposes participants to Myers Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI), a tool that is frequently used to help individuals understand their own communication preferences and how they interact with others. The course will also include interactive discussions, case studies, and role-playing and teach:
leading in an inclusive lab environment
leadership tools: leading down and motivating others
creating lab culture
difficult conversations, negotiation and managing conflict
